Walking Dogs in the Rain

I dread waking up in the morning and seeing a good rain. Yes, we need rain and it certainly reduces our water bill. Our dogs, though, want us to get up and get going. They're hungry and must go out to poop after their breakfast. We check the hourly weather forecast. When will the rain stop? We considered delaying their breakfast but we can't ignore them when they're poking their nose at us and whining.
Luckily, our dogs are hardy. Initially, they'll balk and won't go outside because the rainfall is so loud (and scary? really?) but nature calls. So how do we cope? We bundle ourselves up which means no umbrella, boots, gloves, a cap with a brim and a raincoat with a hood (hood over cap). The dogs? Their leash.

Once they're out, they almost forget it's raining. Every once in a while, they shake off the rain that has collected on their coat but there are smells to smell and things to see. As we near home, their pace quickens. Enough of this rain! Let's get back to where it's warm!

We're home. They enjoy being towel-dried but they're big squirmy bodies that won't stop moving.

They are warm again.
